* Anita Page (1910–2008) was a luminous star of late silent and early sound cinema. Rising to fame at MGM, she captivated audiences with her expressive charm and beauty. Her breakthrough came in “Our Dancing Daughters” (1928) alongside Joan Crawford, followed by major success in “The Broadway Melody” (1929)—the first musical to win Best Picture.

One of MGM’s most beloved ingénues, she received more fan mail than any actress except Greta Garbo. Although her career slowed in the mid-1930s, she remained a cherished figure among classic film enthusiasts and made nostalgic screen appearances later in life. Anita Page is remembered today as a radiant talent who gracefully bridged the silent and early sound eras.
