* 19th-Century Venetian Micro-Mosaics were a celebrated form of decorative art originating in Venice, Italy, particularly on the island of Murano, famed for its glasswork. Crafted from thousands of tiny colored glass tesserae, these miniature mosaics were often set into jewelry, portrait miniatures, and devotional objects. During the 19th century, they became highly sought after by European aristocracy and travelers on the Grand Tour, prized for their exquisite detail, vibrant color, and enduring craftsmanship. Micro-mosaics frequently depicted flowers, religious scenes, classical motifs, or cityscapes, combining artistic beauty with meticulous technical skill. Today, they are treasured as rare examples of historic artisan mastery and collectible luxury jewelry
